LOAS Secures 4 Billion Won in Pre-A Series

News│Press Release

LOAS Secures Additional KRW 1 Billion in Follow-On Investment from IBK Venture Capital and FuturePlay

LOAS, a company specializing in AI-based acoustic inspection systems, announced on the 28th that it has secured an additional KRW 1 billion in follow-on investment from IBK Venture Capital and FuturePlay.

With this investment, LOAS has completed its Pre-Series A round, raising a total of KRW 4 billion. The newly secured funding will be primarily used to accelerate the company’s global market expansion.

Investors highlighted the strong potential of LOAS’s AI acoustic inspection technology to enhance manufacturing quality and prevent critical industrial accidents, noting its global competitiveness as a key factor behind the investment decision.

Previously, LOAS was selected as a “First Penguin Company” through the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund’s Innovation 1 program, a tailored support initiative for complex-solution startups. In October of the same year, the company secured KRW 3 billion in Pre-Series A funding from institutions including Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, STIC Ventures, D.CAMP, and MobyDick Ventures.

The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund designates high-potential startups with innovative technologies as “First Penguin Companies” and supports their growth into global unicorns through integrated financial and non-financial programs.

LOAS independently developed AI Square, the world’s first visualization-based AI acoustic detection, tracking, and inspection software engine, after three years of R&D.

AI Square enables the detection of subtle noise and gas leaks that are difficult for humans to perceive—even in extremely noisy industrial environments such as power plants and production facilities—contributing to improved product quality and prevention of industrial accidents. It has gained significant attention from major domestic infrastructure operators and global manufacturing companies.

Korea Western Power successfully deployed LOAS’s autonomous robotic inspection system, Tfoi, equipped with AI Square at its Seoincheon Power Plant. The system effectively detected micro-leaks in aging industrial gas pipelines, significantly improving operational safety and inspection efficiency.

This successful deployment case was also selected as an outstanding example of mutual growth cooperation under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ “Win-Win Honor” program.

CEO Jaehyun Lee stated, “Although AI acoustic inspection technology is still relatively unfamiliar in global markets, LOAS’s technology has been recognized by major national infrastructure operators and global enterprises. We will continue our efforts to become the world’s leading AI acoustic inspection company and expand our presence in the global market.”
