Although the Serious Accident Punishment Act has been implemented, industrial sites are not safe. According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, there is a clear decline in fatal accidents at construction sites where the construction amount is over 5 billion won and less than 100 million won, but the area between 1 and 5 billion won has stagnated. Small businesses are not required to appoint a safety manager or hold concurrent positions. Therefore, safety is inevitably weaker than in large-scale workplaces with dedicated organizations. As ESG has become an indicator of corporate sustainability, securing worker safety and health within industrial sites has become important. The reporter recently met with IT companies that are at the forefront of worker safety.
