Industrial facilities are diagnosed using artificial intelligence (AI)-based acoustic detection technology. Automatically detects vulnerable points using multiple robots and drones.
LOAS, a company specializing in AI sound detection, tracking, and inspection systems, introduced an AI sound-based industrial equipment diagnosis system at 'Smart Tech Korea 2024 (STK)'.
The system uses an autonomous robot equipped with acoustic detection equipment to patrol the site and look for abnormal noises in facilities such as piping, fans, motors, and bearings. If the AI algorithm determines that the noise is abnormal, it immediately notifies the control system.
A LOAS official said, “It is used in sites such as power plants where there are many rotating parts and periodic facility inspections are required.” He added, “There is no need for people to inspect the facilities directly, and it is also used as a predictive maintenance method to detect abnormalities before facility failure.” He explained.
A home appliance quality inspection solution using AI sound detection technology was also introduced. Sound detection equipment is installed in the production process to determine good and defective products.

An official said, “Even if home appliances make noise, it is difficult for humans to find the point of abnormality.” He added, “With the AI sound detection system, we can immediately find the point of abnormality, and it is also used to find design defects or errors in the manufacturing process.” He said.
He then said, “We applied our own AI sound detection algorithm, including learning acoustic data, filtering ambient noise, and determining abnormal noise.”
Meanwhile, 'STK' will be held for three days from the 19th to the 21st at COEX in Samseong-dong.
